Why I'm Running For Sandy Springs District 6 City Council

As a mother residing in The City of Sandy Springs for more than 20 years, I uphold the belief in community and vibrant-safe communities. My desire to participate in local government helps to support those beliefs.

Leadership & Accountability

As a proven leader, Tesula delivers 30+ years of finance and commercial credit experience. A graduate of Leadership Arts Atlanta and Harvard Non-Profit Leadership, Tesula holds a strong belief in local government and sustainable communities. As President of the Northern Palm Beach Improvement District, Tesula has demonstrated her ability to lead and drive public policy for the benifit of her constituents.

Fiscal Responsibility

A former elected official with the Northern Palm Beach, Florida Improvement District, Tesula oversaw the development of several Units of Development and assisted in successfully completing Bond Issues with Merrill Lynch and Raymond James. Overseeing a multi-million dollar equips Tesula with the experience to effectively manage a budget that will positively impact residents.

Legislation & Policy

Tesula will work in tandem with Mayor and council to enact ordinances and establish city policies. Together, legislation and policy work hand in hand. Policy sets the vision, and legislation makes that vision real. In the last five years, property taxes have increased more than 30% . With a collaborative effort among all the stakeholders we can improve services while lowering taxes.

Looking Toward The Future

Unlike others that are seeking this office, for Dr. Stewart the role of City Council member is a full-time commitment and not a part-time endeavor.  Tesula's vision for the future of Sandy Springs is being able to see beyond today’s challenges and imagine what’s possible tomorrow. That vision requires bold leadership, thoughtful planning, and a commitment to building a stronger community for everyone.
